| Bellingham, WA is located 85 miles north of Seattle, WA and an hour south of Vancouver, BC. The best way to get to Bellingham is to fly to Seattle, WA and drive up. The airport code is SEA. Another option is to fly to Vancouver, BC and drive down, but beware the border can sometimes take several hours to cross. Vancouver's airport code is YVR. Flying to Bellingham is an option, but is very expensive and the flight schedules are not optimal. However, it may be an option if you are flying from Oregon, Idaho, or Eastern Washington.
Once arriving at the airport, one can rent a car or ride the Airporter to Bellingham. The Airporter is a bus that runs between Seattle and Bellingham airports. If anyone is thinking about renting a car and would like to try to share the cost with other travelers, please drop us an email and we can pass on the information. Likewise for those who want to catch a ride with those renting.
Driving to Bellingham, WA from Portland, OR is about 4.5 hours (263.21 miles). Another option is to ride the Amtrak, which goes directly from Portland to Bellingham. It is a very nice and scenic ride, which takes approximately 7 hours and costs ~48.00 round trip. |

| Above is a short list of hotels you should consider. Please keep in mind that we have not actually stayed in these hotels, but have picked them from referrals and proximity to the ceremony and reception. There are many hotels in Bellingham, so don't feel like you have to stay at one of these.
If you can afford it, the Hotel Bellwether is right on the water and supposed to be very nice. The North Garden B&B and DeCann B&B are both supposed to have nice views of the ocean. The Val-U Inn Motel is very close to the freeway and the airporter drops off and picks up from there daily. Lastly, the Best Western and Days Inn are your standard hotel chains. |
